Portraits, interiors, exhibitions, graphic pieces and ceramics by Rafael Bordalo Pinheiro all feature in the museum’s photography collection.
Prominent groups include the Bordalo Pinheiro family, the Fábrica de Faianças das Caldas da Rainha, Cruz Magalhães, Julieta Ferrão and the museum itself. The collection includes prints produced in studios by well-known photographers, but also in the open air and by amateur photographers. More than 100 photography studios are featured, mostly located in Lisbon, Porto, Paris and Rio de Janeiro. This collection contains more than 1,800 pieces.
