The museum holds the most important collection of faïence work by Rafael Bordalo Pinheiro. Most are unique or mass produced pieces from the Fábrica de Faianças das Caldas da Rainha, established in 1884.
Other ceramic artists from Caldas da Rainha are represented, such as Maria dos Cacos, Manuel Cipriano Gomes, known as Mafra, and Manuel Gustavo Bordalo Pinheiro, son of Rafael Bordalo. It contains around 1,000 pieces of highly diverse models of artistic and common faïence.
