The Bordalo Pinheiro Museum has a comprehensive collection of original drawings by Rafael Bordalo Pinheiro and his son, Manuel Gustavo. This collection covers a broad period in the work of both artists and is mostly composed of humorous drawings.
It also includes ‘live’ sketches, studies for publication in periodicals, illustration and costumes for the theatre, as well as work drawn by other artists, in particular Columbano Bordalo Pinheiro, Francisco Valença and Stuart Carvalhaes.
It contains more than 2,600 pieces.
